Teena Clipston
Until recently Teena was immersed in the Canadian Arts & Entertainment scene. Her experience includes Publishing, Concert Promotion, Event Production Management, Booking Agency, and Artist Management.
In 2003 Teena founded the Okanagan Musician Awards. The awards were created to promote professional excellence; to encourage a better understanding and greater appreciation for music; and to provide a public forum for songwriters, performers, and musicians. Her work brought the eyes of the music industry to the Okanagan, and the area was recognized for its important contributions to the arts and culture community. In 2007 she was awarded a Humanitarian Award for these efforts.
For Teena, the music industry opened up an arena of opportunity in publishing, and she founded BC Musician Magazine. She dusted off an old journalism diploma and began work as publisher and editor, creating and leading a team of entertainment writers. The magazine reported on some of Canada’s greatest talents including Bryan Adams, Avril Lavigne, The Trews, Nelly Furtado, Faber Drive, The Wilkinsons, Corb Lund, State of Shock, and many more. She sold the magazine in 2008.
Teena continued working in the Arts & Entertainment scene with Gonzo magazine but soon felt a change was on the horizon. She took a hiatus from publishing for some self discovery that included living off-grid on a 35-foot sailboat off the coast of Vancouver Island, traveling to remote destinations, and reconnecting with the Earth.
In 2011 Teena traveled to Arizona to meet with the Hopi people - a group of Native American people who primarily live on the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona. She was interested in the history of the Hopi and the Hopi Prophecies; the journey was part of a deeper awakening of personal responsibility to the Earth and to all of the people on it.
This change in lifestyle and heart brought about THEGREENGAZETTE, a magazine dedicated to the Earth and to those people that would like to live in conjunction with it.
Teena is now living in the Cariboo of British Columbia, attempting to grow a garden while exploring the many possibilities of living off-grid.
